Emergency Lockout in Haifa

Door slammed shut behind you, key locked inside the car, or a key snapped off in the lock? It always happens at the worst moment. Emergency lockout is our core work: we reach any point in Haifa or the Krayot in 20–40 minutes and open without damaging the door, lock, window or paintwork. Situations we are called to

• Door slammed shut with the keys still inside the flat. Our most frequent call.
• Key locked in the car — especially at Haifa's beaches in summer and in underground car parks.
• Key snapped in the lock. We extract the broken piece and, if needed, replace the cylinder on the spot.
• Seized lock that will not turn in either direction.
• All keys lost. We open first, then cut a new set or change the cylinder.

Door opening: what we open

We open any door and lock — at home, in the office or in a storeroom:

• Front doors of flats and houses — whether the door simply slammed shut or is locked with the key.
• Steel security doors (pladelet) with a multi-point mechanism — Rav Bariach and similar; the most common door type in Israel.
• Mamad doors (the reinforced safe room).
• Interior doors, storerooms, offices and utility rooms.
• Safes.

How we open without damage

Professional lockout work is not forcing the door. We use tools that act on the mechanism, not on the door itself:

• Doors: picks and decoders matched to the specific cylinder type. The door, frame and usually the lock itself all survive intact.
• Cars: Lishi tools and specialist probes — no air wedges forced under the seal, no glass work, no marks on the paint.
• Steel doors (pladelet): a separate technique for Rav Bariach multi-point mechanisms.

If a lock is damaged internally and genuinely cannot be opened without destroying it, we tell you before starting and agree the cylinder replacement — you always know what you are paying for.

Will the lock have to be drilled?

In most cases, no: the door is opened with dedicated tools and the lock keeps working. But sometimes there is no way around drilling — it depends on the type of lock and its condition. In that case the cylinder is replaced with a new one after opening.

The important part: if the lock has to be drilled, we tell you before we start — together with the price of the new cylinder, not once the door is already open.

What not to do before we arrive

• Do not try to pick it yourself. Hairpins, knives and screwdrivers almost always wreck the mechanism — and a ₪150 opening becomes a ₪400 replacement.
• Do not pull at a broken key. It usually pushes the fragment deeper.
• Do not force the door. Repairing a steel door costs many times more than opening it.
• Be wary of "from ₪50" adverts. That pricing almost always turns into a very different figure once someone is at your door.

What a lockout costs

Price depends on the lock type and the hour. We quote it on the phone before setting off — and it does not change on arrival, including nights and Shabbat.

How long does opening take?

It depends on the type of door and lock. Add travel time — usually 20–40 minutes across Haifa and the Krayot.

Does the lock need replacing afterwards?

• The door simply slammed shut — no. The lock keeps working and nothing needs replacing.
• The keys are lost — we recommend changing the cylinder straight away, on the same visit: otherwise whoever finds the keys can open the door. More in lock replacement in Haifa.

Worth saying plainly: before opening anything we ask you to confirm the property or vehicle is yours — a lease, vehicle registration, a bill in your name or ID showing the address. This is standard practice for any reputable locksmith, and it protects you first and foremost, because we would refuse anyone else asking us to open your door.
